Market Wool Bulky 2-ply, Black 1006
Care: Hand Wash; Color Fast to 120•F
The Market Wool Bulky Yarn that we offer is processed and spun at a commercial mill in Morocco. It is made from a mix of medium quality wools from the western Marrakech plains and the Anti-Atlas Mountains. Each batch will have varying amounts of wool types, may be blended with small amounts of synthetic fiber to moderate tensile strength, and often has kemp. Because of this, we cannot guarantee consistent dye absorption or quality for this yarn.
However, it is a great, economical option for a strong, durable yarn with moderate shedding. Many weavers throughout Morocco buy yarn like this at the weekly souks, or markets, that are held across the country. They buy it already dyed or dye it themselves with products purchased at the souk or with natural dyes they make themselves.
At Atlas Wool Supply Co., we buy natural, un-dyed Market Wool yarn and dye it ourselves with people and planet-friendly products to ensure that the yarn we sell is as safe as possible for The Anou artisans, our customers, and the environment.
Market Wool Bulky is perfect for tapestry weaving and rug knotting. It is also suitable for accessory and rustic outerwear knitting and crocheting and should be worn over a shirt.
